During an attempted traffic stop at around 10 p.m., Fairfield Police officers tried to stop a driver at the 3000 block of N. Texas St.

The driver, later identified as Patrick Hall, refused to pull over, and a chase ensued.

While officers were pursuing Hall, he shot at their cars multiple times, hitting the windshield and the driver's side headrest, "narrowly missing the officer," wrote the police in a press release on Tuesday.

Officers chased Hall into Vallejo, and he was finally stopped when police punctured his tires with a spike strip.

When Hall stopped near Griffin and Gateway, he again shot at officers. Police shot back, and struck Hall.

Medical assistance was given to Hall at the scene and he was then transferred to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and being conducted by the Solano County Major Crimes Task Force.
