The family of young Fremont boy tragically swept out to sea this past week is offering a $50,000 reward to any boater or pilot that can help locate his remains.

Twelve-year-old Arunay Pruthi was at Cowell Ranch State Beach south of Half Moon Bay in San Mateo County with his dad and younger brother Monday when they were swept about 100 yards offshore by a rogue wave. His dad and brother managed to get back to the shore, but Arunay did not.

Despite an immediate large-scale search, he’s not yet been found.

Search efforts were suspended by the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday.

"We have decided to offer a reward to encourage folks with specialized equipment to help look for him," a post on the "Search for Arunay Pruthi" Facebook page said. "So please spread the word among communities of sea-farers along the California coastline. The expectations are that he is likely to be South of the spot where he was swept away."

A GoFundMe campaign to help continue the search has raised almost $190,000 as of Friday afternoon. The money raised will go to boats, divers and helicopters.
