The fire started at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday on the 1000 block of Diamon Street in Noe Valley at a 3-story Victorian home undergoing renovations.

The cause of the fire was a small gas line explosion inside the home. Neighbors heard the commotion as it unfolded, and could smell the fire from down the block.

One man working on the house was injured at the scene.

The fire crew on the scene located and rescued the victim from the home, according to Lt. Jonathan Baxter with the San Francisco Fire Department, where he was then treated on scene by paramedics.

"That individual has been transported to a local burn hospital with serious injuries," said Baxter.
