Early voting swung into full force in much of California this weekend, as hundreds of vote centers opened their doors.
“Get your vote heard by November 3rd” was the message emblazoned on a sky banner, dragged behind a chartered plane flying over Levi's Stadium on Saturday. The stadium is one of about 100 Santa Clara County vote centers that opened this weekend and will stay open all the way through Election Day.

Shannon Bushey, with the Registrar of Voters, said that even with all the uncertainty surrounding this election cycle, she and her team are still feeling really good.
“We have been working on this all year, even before the primary election, to get to this November’s election,” Bushey told KCBS Radio.
And, she said that with a number of health and safety measures in place, from social distancing to mask requirements, the COVID-19 risk for voters has been kept to a minimum.
“We’re using plexiglass in between the voters and the vote center workers when they’re going in and checking in,” Bushey noted. “So, we are prepared.”
San Mateo and Napa Counties have also switched over to a vote center process. Many other counties will carry out in-person voting at traditional polling places.
