Warriors tickets skyrocket in anticipation of Klay Thompson return

Ticket prices for Sunday's Warriors game against the Cleveland Cavaliers have soared to the thousands in anticipation of All-Star guard Klay Thompson's return.

A pair of VIP courtside tickets posted on StubHub reached a staggering $72,396 Saturday, $36,198 apiece, as fans clamor to secure a seat in the arena.

According to the Golden State Warriors website, courtside club seats go for $1,200 and upper level nosebleeds go for $75 to $130 on regular nights, but even nosebleed seats are being offered for $216 for Jan. 9th's game.

Klay Thompson announced his official return to basketball Saturday after a painful two-and-a-half-year hiatus due to leg injuries.

"I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE YALL DUBNATION ! LETS GET IT," Thompson wrote in an Instagram post.

"Five-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA champion Klay Thompson will be available to play in tomorrow night's game vs. Cleveland," Warriors officials revealed in a press release. "Thompson, who owns NBA records for most points in a single quarter (37 on Jan. 23, 2015) and most threes in a single game (14 on Oct. 29, 2018), last appeared in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on June 13, 2019."
