Although March is a month where winter transitions into spring, this week the temperatures will reach about 10 to 20 degrees higher than usual in spots around the region, according to a post by the National Weather Service on Twitter on Monday.
The warm weather shouldn't pose too much of a threat, but weather officials are still advising people in certain areas to use caution.
"Stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing and avoid outdoor activities during the afternoon," said the twitter post.
The temperatures will be highest in inland areas, and coolest by the coast and bayside. The uptick in temperature will start around late morning Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.
Starting Tuesday, some cities further inland are likely to see temperatures in the low to mid-80s, including San Jose, Santa Rosa, and Gilroy.
It will be the coolest in Half Moon Bay, Monterey, SFO, and San Francisco, areas particularly close to the water.
The hottest temperatures are expected in King City, at 88 degrees.
Those on the coast are advised to be aware of possible rip currents in the water.
