Shake Shack will make its long-awaited debut in downtown San Francisco’s Westfield mall next week.
The New York-based burger chain will open an 845 Market St. storefront at noon on June 28, within a few minutes’ walk of BART’s Powell St. station.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the company will donate $1 from every sale Monday to La Cocina, a San Francisco nonprofit that provides resources and assistance to women of color and immigrant women running their own food businesses.
The company first announced its intention to open a location at Westfield San Francisco Centre in 2019, with an eye on opening its doors last year. It’s Shake Shack’s second location in San Francisco, following the 2020 opening of one in Cow Hollow, and the Bay Area’s seventh.
Shake Shack’s staples are coming to the new location, as well as a Bay Area exclusive. The Golden State Double, a cheeseburger with two grass-fed patties, cheddar and smoked garlic aioli, will be on the menu on June 28, the paper said.
Located in the food court on the mall’s concourse, Shake Shack will be open seven days a week from noon to 6 p.m. The location will accept walk-in orders and pre-orders on the Shake Shack app.
