A woman arrived home to find a naked burglar inside her Petaluma residence on Tuesday evening. Police are searching for the suspect.
The incident was reported at 5:04 p.m. Wednesday at the 400 block of Cortez Dr., according to police. The victim told authorities she entered her house and saw the suspect inside with no clothes.
He immediately fled through the rear sliding glass door into the backyard, forced his way through an adjoining fence and exited the residence through a back gate.
A witness said the alleged thief was last seen running northbound on Cortez Dr. towards McKenzie Ave.
Authorities arrived on the scene and, with the help of two canine officers, conducted a yard-to-yard search for the suspect across the neighborhood, but were unable to locate the home invader.
The subject is described as a Hispanic or Asian adult male, approximately 5-foot-7, with a thin build and shoulder length black straight hair.
Officials did not say what, if anything, was stolen from the residence.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to call 707-778-4372 or email ddickerson@cityofpetaluma.org.
