Female pedestrian reportedly seriously injured after being hit by bus in Menlo Park

MENLO PARK (KCBS RADIO) – A traffic collision in Menlo Park Wednesday morning has had dire consequences for a pedestrian, according to reporting by KNTV.

A traffic advisory went out Wednesday morning at 2 a.m. from Menlo Park Police Department, for drivers to avoid the 400 block of southbound El Camino Real.

According to the post, "A vehicle crash" near El Camino Real and Glenwood Ave. forced officials to close off southbound El Camino Real between Encinal Ave. and Glenwood Ave. for around four to six hours.

The roads were reopened just after 7:15 a.m., according to the most recent update.

The accident involved a female pedestrian who was struck by a bus, according to KNTV. She was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for "life-threatening injuries."

The woman has not yet been identified, but is reportedly a missing person from San Mateo, according to the station.

The Menlo Park Police Department did not respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment at the time of publication.
