A woman had her backpack stolen and other belongings by two suspects with a gun on Tuesday afternoon while waiting at a Palo Alto train station.
Palo Alto Police Department officers answered a call at around 4:17 p.m. Tuesday afternoon about a robbery. The victim, a woman in her twenties, reported that she had been robbed at gunpoint at the University Avenue train station at 95 University Avenue.

She had been standing near the train platform by the bus turnaround when she was confronted by the two suspects, who held a black handgun up to her.
Her backpack, credit cards, a portable charger, and the Nike tennis shoes that she was wearing at that moment were all stolen.
When an innocent bystander, a woman in her eighties, tried to intervene she was threatened with the gun as well.
Fortunately, neither of the two women were injured in the incident.
The two suspects then fled the area in a white four-door Nissan sedan. The men, described as Hispanic and each about 25 years old, were reportedly last seen wearing black shirts and face coverings.
They fled in the direction of University Circle and have yet to be apprehended.
According to a Palo Alto Police Department press release, this appears to be an isolated incident, the station hasn’t dealt with this sort of crime before.
