A woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an attempted carjacking at San Francisco International Airport's Grand Hyatt late Monday.
The victim, who wasn't identified, was shot in the leg during the incident in the hotel parking lot at about 8 p.m., SFO Public Information Officer Doug Yakel confirmed to KCBS Radio.
She's being treated for her injuries at a local hospital.
A suspect is not in custody.
Several police vehicles were spotted parked on the road leading to the entrance of the hotel and along frontage roads off Highway 101 northbound roughly an hour after the shooting. The hotel is connected to the airport.
Officers were seen with what appeared to be rifles and arriving vehicles to the hotel at 55 S. McDonnell Rd. were being rerouted.
Airport Police and the San Mateo Sheriff's Office are involved in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Airport operations were not interrupted.
