SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Yelp has released a list of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area, highlighting some local favorites and "hidden gems."

The list was compiled and ranked by the total volume and ratings of reviews of businesses in the restaurant category on Yelp, the blog post said.
The top of the list this year is Vinoma. The Rohnert Park eatery is a family-owned business that specializes in handmade Argentine empanadas.
"These are the best empanadas hands down in the Bay Area…It's located near a gas station, but don’t be fooled!" Yelp Elite Rebecca L said in her review.
"This truly is an honor for our Family Restaurant," Brian Corrigan owner of Vinoma told KCBS Radio.
The empanada recipes were developed over time by Chef Corrigan after he fell in love with his wife's culture, Corrigan said. The restaurant focuses on traditional flavors for their empanadas as well as adding a California twist to some.
Big H Deli in Fairfield came in second for their specialty spicy chicken shawarma, roast beef sandwich and a pastrami sandwich.
The San Francisco restaurant that took the 3rd top spot is known for its tandoori and curries. Ocean Indian Cuisine on Geary Boulevard focuses on Indian, Himalayan/ Nepalese food.
"The food was amazing, service was high up there for me, and I am definitely making my way back here again." Yelp Elite Ricky K said in a review.
All businesses on the list have been marked open as of June 27, 2022, the blog post said.
