A man who taunted police officers on Facebook before he was arrested last month is set to get out of jail later this month, according to Licking County, Ohio, records.

“Y’all almost had the other day you gotta be quicker than that,” said Tanner Rhinehart in the comments section of a post calling for help to apprehend him.

“What willll I get if I turn my self in,” he said in another, followed by a “laughing to tears” emoji. Other commenters responded with jokes, memes and tips for evading authorities. One even called Rhinehart a “star.”

However, the Newark Division of Police eventually caught up with him. Rhinehart was arrested May 24 on numerous warrants. According to authorities, he thought jumping in a river would help him evade capture.

“However, he was wrong & was taken into custody without further incident,” said police.

Rhinehart was charged with probation violation, theft, obstructing justice and a drivers’ license offense, all misdemeanors. He is scheduled to be released July 11, per county documents.
