NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded after a Republican congressman from Arizona tweeted a photoshopped anime video showing him attacking her and lunging at President Joe Biden with swords.

Rep. Paul Gosar tweeted the video Sunday evening, and it was flagged by Twitter later that night.

The tweet remained up Tuesday, with a Twitter warning saying, “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”

“Any anime fans out there?” Gosar tweeted along with the 90-second video, which appears to show an edited version of the opening credits for the Japanese anime series “Attack on Titan.” Gosar's face, as well as those of AOC and Biden, are superimposed on the original characters.

The video shows Gosar striking AOC in the neck with swords before lunging towards Biden with the same weapons. The video also includes footage of Border Patrol officers and migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.

AOC responded to the post with a tweet of her own Monday evening.

“So while I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me,” she wrote.

“And he’ll face no consequences bc [House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy] cheers him on with excuses,” the New York rep continued. “Fun Monday! Well, back to work bc institutions don’t protect [women of color].”

The Democratic congresswoman posted several followup tweets, including one pointing to the times she’s been accosted by members of Congress in the past.

“All at my job & nothing ever happens,” she wrote.

She also called Gosar “a collection of wet toothpicks.”

“White supremacy is for extremely fragile people & sad men like him, whose self concept relies on the myth that he was born superior because deep down he knows he couldn’t open a pickle jar or read a whole book by himself,” she wrote.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded to the video on Tuesday, writing on Twitter, "Threats of violence against Members of Congress and the President of the United States must not be tolerated."

"[House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy] should join in condemning this horrific video and call on the Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate," Pelosi continued.
