
Police in Philadelphia are searching for an alleged offender who reportedly abducted a woman while driving a golf cart near an Applebee’s restaurant over the weekend.
According to police, the alleged offender is a white male who is around 6 ft. tall and was wearing ripped blue jeans, a brown plaid smock shirt, and a green beanie style hat.
He was following the woman – described as an unknown white woman in her 20s or 30s carrying a black bag and wearing a wearing a light-colored jacket, dark shirt and black jeans with a white design on the left leg – at around 6:42 p.m. Saturday when the abduction occurred. Authorities said he followed her on Cumberland Street in Philadelphia eastbound towards Aramingo Avenue.
“The offender, who was operating a maroon and black colored Polaris Northstar XP 1000 two seat style golf cart, pulled into a location on the 25XX block of Aramingo Avenue, opened the driver’s door and then discharged a firearm one time striking the asphalt parking lot of the WSFS bank,” said information the Philadelphia Police Department provided to Audacy.
Then, the alleged offender travelled across Aramingo Avenue.
A witness stated that he pulled up on the curb near an Applebee’s/Wawa’s location.
Police said the man then “exited the golf cart, pulled out a firearm, pointed the firearm at the female victim, and then grabbed her, shoving her into the front passenger side of the golf cart,” and fled in the golf cart from Aramingo, going westbound on Cumberland Street. Officers arrived soon after they left the scene.
