Bill O'Reilly, more weigh in on Trump's first 100 days

Now that President Donald Trump is 100 days into his second term, multiple polls have shown that Americans are less than enthusiastic about his performance. This week, major issues facing the president will be addressed during a town hall with Trump airing on Audacy.

Bill O’Reilly, host of “No Spin News” joined Audacy this week to discuss the first months of Trump’s second administration. While he did note some high points, even the longtime conservative pundit didn’t describe the first 100 days as a complete success.

You know, as a former high school teacher, I’d have to give it an incomplete at this point,” said O’Reilly. He said that Trump’s approach top border policy has been positive but that tariffs have “got people spooked.”

This Sunday, Nate Silver’s Silver Bulletin reported that Trump’s approval ratings were rapidly falling and that his disapproval rating was higher than at the same point during his first term. ABC News polling released that day found that Trump had the lowest 100-day approval rating of any president in 80 years.

CNN released new poll results Monday that also showed that Americans had negative views of Trump’s economic policies. NPR released poll results Tuesday that showed most Americans gave the president’s first 100 days an “F” rating.

“The polls are a disaster,” said WCCO News Talk’s Chad Hartman this week. “They’re atrocious for Donald Trump. A comeback from Trump supporters might be this: ‘Guess what, Donald Trump for whatever reason underpolls consistently.’”

Hartman noted that Trump promised on the campaign trail this year to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine in one day and to bring down inflation in the same time period. However, both the war in Ukraine and inflation have persisted. On the Ukraine front, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently met at the Vatican, where they attended the late Pope Francis’ funeral. As for the economy and rising prices – many are concerned that Trump’s tariff plans will make things more expensive.

“I think what people want a little bit more... is a plan,” said Hartman. Another issue Hartman mentioned include Trump’s fights with judges, which have led to concerns about the separation of powers outlined in the U.S. Constitution.

In response to the harsh polling results, Trump took to social media Monday.

“We don’t have a Free and Fair ‘Press’ in this Country anymore. We have a Press that writes BAD STORIES, and CHEATS, BIG, ON POLLS. IT IS COMPROMISED AND CORRUPT. SAD!” he wrote in Truth Social one post.

“The Polls from the Fake News are, like the News itself, FAKE! We are doing GREAT, better than ever before,” the president said in another.

Tune in to hear more from Trump on his first 100 days during Audacy’s town hall Wednesday with Trump at 7p.m. CT/8p.m. ET.

O’Reilly will participate in the Trump town hall airing on many Audacy talk stations on Wednesday at 8pm EST, which is to be anchored by Chris Cuomo of NewsNation. It will also feature Stephen A. Smith and a live phone interview with the President as well as participation from Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and leaders of the Democratic Party.

“I want to get on the record what his feeling is about his… victories and his defeats in the… first hundred days – and in order to do that he’s got to feel kind of comfortable to explain what happened,” O’Reilly told Audacy station KFTK.
