NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The father and mother of a 3-month-old Bronx girl who was found dead in a wooded area alongside the Major Deegan Expressway over the weekend were charged, authorities said.

Damion Comager, 23, the infant's father, was arrested on Monday, at approximately 8 p.m.

He was charged with murder, manslaughter and concealment of a human corpse, according to the NYPD.

Ivana Paolozzi, 20, the baby's mother, was also arrested at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday.

She was charged with concealment of a human corpse and obstructing governmental administration.

Genevieve Comager's body was discovered around 8:25 p.m. Sunday on West 161st Street off the highway, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS workers.

According to the New York Post, Genevieve lived with her family at a nearby shelter on University Avenue classified as transitional housing.

Authorities found the infant's body while searching the area after she went missing from the shelter, the sources added.

Police were reportedly called to the shelter early Sunday after a concerned family member contacted the city's Administration for Children's Services.

The city's medical examiner will determine her cause of death.
