Want to chill like a member of the Trump family, or like one of their personal friends? It's as easy as ponying up $500,000 because that's the entry fee for a new private club started by Donald Trump Jr.
The club is slotted for Washington DC's exclusive Georgetown neighborhood and will be marketed, according to Poitico, as a "refuge" for the Trump-era rich and powerful, "backed by crypto moguls, conservative financiers, and Trump family associates, aiming to shield members from the press and old-guard Republicans." The club is the brainchild of Trump Jr and several high-dollar donors to his father's administration, including Omeed Malikventure.
The club, named Executive Branch, will allow only 200 members, and will look like a "Trumpian speakeasy" although no one has seen the inside yet. It's slated to open in June.
Reportedly the lure is a club where rich MAGA-ites can talk without worry about being overheard or reported on to the media. Think the list of people who would belong is short? Think again. Politico reported there's already a waitlist for new members.
David Sacks, Trump’s crypto czar, another of its investors, said on a podcast it'll be "new, hipper, and Trump-aligned." Daily Mail reported not everyone with a cool half-million to spare will be welcomed, though, because they're not interested in allowing "Bush era Republicans."
It'll be a MAGA place of refuge and some believe the big man himself will stop by periodically and show his support and chat with pals. “It’s very simple,” Sacks said on the “All-In” podcast. “We want a place to hang out in D.C.”
