Dr. Phil McGraw, who is most known for his former daytime talk show, shared that he thinks President Joe Biden should take a cognitive test simply to prove he has “nothing to hide” after his doctor opted not to conduct one last month.

Despite criticism from his political opponents, a scathing special counsel report, and even doubts from his own supporters, the president did not take a cognitive test during his yearly physical. When questioned about the decision, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shut down questions.

“He passes a cognitive test every day as he moves from one topic to another test, understanding the granular level of these topics,” Jean-Pierre said.

Still, when asked by Bill Maher on “Real Time with Bill Maher” whether he thought Biden should take a test, McGraw answered as one of the panelists on the episode, “Why not?”

In total, 86% of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve another term, according to a recent ABC News survey. Additionally, 56% thought both Trump and Biden were too old.

In a post to social media last week, Trump challenged Biden over skipping the cognitive test, saying that he had already taken two and passed them while Biden was ducking the challenge.

“Crooked Joe Biden must take a Cognitive Test. Maybe that way we would be able to find out why he makes such terrible decisions,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I took two of them, and ACED them both (no mistakes!). All Presidents, or people wanting to become President should mandatorily take this test!”

Concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities have existed for some time but have grown worse in recent weeks thanks to special counsel Robert Hur’s report that described the president as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”

Biden defended himself in a press conference after the report’s release, insisting his memory is fine, but now people are calling on him to put his money where his mouth is.

“People that have nothing to hide, hide nothing. So, why not?” McGraw said.
