A 14-year-old East Texas boy faces a murder charge in connection to the shooting death of his 8-year-old brother.

Zayden Worley, 8, was shot in the head on Saturday and airlifted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, where he was pronounced dead.

Initially, Henderson County investigators were told Worley was standing on the back porch and was hit by a stray bullet from a wooded area. Worley, his brother and one other child were home alone at the time, police said.

However, after searching the property, talking with witnesses and reviewing forensics, detectives determined the story didn't line up.

"The physical evidence recovered from the scene and autopsy show the initial report of how this happened is not possible," police said.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Worley's 14-year-old brother for the offense of murder, police said.

At this point, it's not clear if the teen is being charged as a juvenile or an adult. The case remains under investigation.
