Two weeks after tweeting that he’d hand over billions of dollars to solve world hunger if the recipient could give a transparent and itemized list of what the money would be spent on, Tesla founder and multi-billionaire Elon Musk was back on social media offering up substantial sums of money while also poking at Senator Bernie Sanders.
In response to a tweet from Sanders that read, “We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period,” Musk responded, “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive.”
Musk then made a proposal to the Congressman from Vermont.
According to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk’s list of tasks checked off of last week’s to-do list included cashing in nearly $7 billion worth of Tesla stock.
Musk steadily moved up the list of the world’s richest people over the course of the pandemic, eventually reaching #1 thanks to the continued climbing of Tesla stock prices.
