There are many different arguments in the debate over using a real Christmas tree versus a fake one. While some families like the look of a real tree, others go with a plastic tree year after year.

However, for one family in South Africa, the debate has been settled after finding a venomous snake living inside their Christmas tree.

The Wild family in South Africa got an early Christmas surprise recently after putting up their Christmas tree. They found a deadly boomslang snake, one of South Africa’s most venomous snakes, poking out of the tree.

Luckily the family did a quick internet search on the snake, and realized they should call a professional to remove it. Eventually, the snake was safely removed from the home and no one was harmed in the process, according to New York Post. Good luck trying to tell this family why a real tree is better.
