Believe it or not, primary election season is nearly upon us, with the first Republican debate scheduled for this summer.

The Republican National Committee has announced that the first debate will take place in August in Milwaukee, hosted by Fox News.

"I am excited to announce that our first debate in Milwaukee will be in partnership with Fox News," RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement. "The next President of the United States will be on our debate stage, and we look forward to hosting a fair and transparent platform for our great candidates to debate and share our winning Republican message with voters across the country."

The debate will also be livestreamed on the video-sharing platform Rumble in addition to be televised exclusively on Fox News. McDaniel said using an unbiased platform like Rumble will allow the RNC to provide a fair debate while holding Big Tech accountable "for their biases and silencing of conservatives."

"We're getting away from Big Tech; YouTube's owned by Google. We're going to have an RNC channel on Rumble, and then the Young America's Foundation, which is run by Scott Walker, to really reach out to young voters. They're based in Wisconsin, so they're going to be a partner as well," McDaniel said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. "We do want to get our message on these social media platforms, and bringing in a group like Young America's Foundation is really going to help get those younger voters who get news differently."

Rumble chairman and CEO Chris Pavlovski said in a statement that "Rumble's mission to protect free speech is not just a slogan, it runs through the DNA of our company. We are thrilled to partner with the RNC to bring the debate stage online and help promote open dialogue."

Walker also released a statement, saying Young America's Foundation is thrilled to be a partner with the RNC as there has never been a more important moment to reach younger voters.

"This is a great time to introduce more young Americans to the value of freedom and opportunity for all," he said.

So far, only a handful of candidates have announced a 2024 presidential run, including former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.

"We get to talk about what's happening in Republican states, the fact that we're going to tackle inflation and tackle fentanyl... crime, the border," McDaniel told Fox & Friends. "People in the country do not feel like the country is on track and we're going to have the next president on that debate stage."

Although not a requirement to join the debate, McDaniel said she would like each candidate to sign a pledge to support the party's eventual presidential nominee.

"It's about beating Joe Biden. It's about beating what's happening in the country right now," she said. "And we can only do that united, so we want every candidate to pledge that heading into this process."

While the debate is planned for August, a date has not yet been set.
