The man once known as America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani, gave a speech at a 9/11 commemoration, honoring those who died in 2001 on Saturday. During the speech, he called a top U.S. general an “idiot and “a-hole” and imitated Queen Elizabeth, among other strange anecdotes.
The rant happened at the annual Sept. 11 dinner held at Cipriani, a restaurant in New York City. During his speech, Giuliani went from topic to topic at one point, remarking on General Mark Milley’s comments on the importance of an army base.
“He has so many stars, they’re coming up into his ears,” he said. “I wanted to grab his stars, shove it down his throat and say, ‘It’s 400 miles from China a--hole. China is going to be our enemy for the next 40 years. Idiot!”
On social media, some questioned whether or not Giuliani had something to drink before giving the speech.
He also brought up the botched evacuation of Afghanistan at the end of last month. To which the crowd began clapping after sitting in silence for the previous remarks.
“What Biden did in the last few weeks is freaking insane,” he went on to say.
Giuliani then discussed Queen Elizabeth’s comments to him following his leadership after the terrorist attacks.
In a British accent, intended to imitate the queen, he said, “She said ‘You did a wonderful job on Sept. 11.’”
Giuliani then claimed that he turned down a knighthood because he would lose his U.S. citizenship and that he never hung out with Prince Andrew, calling attention to his current sexual assault case.
“I know Prince Andrew is very questionable now,” Giuliani continued. “I never went out with him. Ever! Never had a drink with him, never was with a woman or young girl with him. Ever, ever, ever.”
The remarks left many confused as he also said that President Biden “doesn’t belong” in New York City for the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Nonetheless, there has been no comment from Giuliani following his peculiar speech last night.
