NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Outspoken anti-Israel Minnesota Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar's 21-year-old daughter, Columbia University undergraduate Isra Hirsi, was suspended from the school Thursday after taking part in unauthorized protests, which were anti-Israel -- including joining an encampment -- on campus grounds, she and the school confirmed.

"i’m an organizer with CU Apartheid Divest @ColumbiaSJP, in my 3 years at @BarnardCollege i have never been reprimanded or received any disciplinary warnings," Hirsi, who is expected to graduate in 2025, wrote on X. "i just received notice that i am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians."

A Columbia spokesperson confirmed Hirsi's suspension, telling 1010 WINS/WCBS 880, "Students who are participating in the unauthorized encampment are suspended. We are continuing to identify them and will be sending out formal notifications."

According to the student group Hirsi is affiliated with, Barnard Dean Leslie Grinage sent her and at least two other students notice of their suspension Thursday morning.

"This decision is based on information received from Columbia University Public Safety that you have been involved in an unauthorized encampment on the Columbia University campus and you have not ceased participation in this unauthorized encampment despite repeated requests from Barnard and Columbia on April 17, 2024 that you do so," read the notice.

Hirsi, who describes herself in her X bio as an "angry black girl," also wrote, "those of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated. we will stand resolute until our demands are met."

Among the demands she wrote is, "FULL amnesty for all students facing repression."
