If you're looking for a new job, some economists say now is the best time to find one.
Indeed chief economist Jed Kolko tells CBS San Francisco there were so many layoffs that a lot of employers are now trying to catch up.
"We are at a moment where employers are eager to hire and many job seekers are still holding back," Kolko says.
He says now will be better than the Fall because that's when more kids will be back in school so parents who've been staying home will want to find work again.
Kolko says the hospitality and tourism industries have been hit hard in the pandemic and will take longer to recover.
About one-and-a-half million people in California are currently unemployed.
