If you’ve bought sausage lately, check your fridge.
Johnsonville has issued a recall for 20 tons of sausages because of possible contamination.
The recall effects 14 oz. packages of “Beddar with Cheddar” Smoked Sausage Links that were shipped to eight different states, mostly in the midwestern U.S.
All of the affected packages will be stamped with a “best by” date of 07/11/2023 C35. They also have an establishment number of EST 34224.
The sausages shipped in those packages could contain “very thin black, fibrous strands of plastic” that could be a major health hazard.
Packages with these markings should be discarded or returned to the store they came from.
