Former President Donald Trump may be on track to win the GOP presidential nomination, but there's one top Republican who won't be in his corner.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the New Hampshire primary results are of "great interest" but that he has no news to report with regard to an endorsement for Trump, Fox News reported.

McConnell told reporters on Tuesday: "I've stayed essentially out of it. But if I change my mind, I'll let you know."

McConnell's comments come after a growing number of Senate Republicans have thrown their support behind Trump as some are calling on former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to drop out of the race so that the party can unite behind Trump as the Republican nominee.

According to The Washington Post, Trump is on track to make this the shortest primary season in recent presidential history. Although only two states have voted so far, Trump could win the nomination by mid-March, The Post reported.

As long as Haley stays in the race, voting goes through June.

Trump won the New Hampshire primary with 54.3% of the vote after taking the Iowa caucuses with 51% of the vote.

Meantime, the Biden campaign said results in both states confirm "Donald Trump has all but locked up the GOP nomination."

"Donald Trump is headed straight into a general election matchup where he'll face the only person to have ever beaten him at the ballot box: Joe Biden," Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in the statement, per CNN.
