Newsom advisor forms nation's first PAC advocating transparency on UFOs

A top political advisor to California Governor Gavin Newsom has taken on an out-of-this-world new mission. He has formed the first political action committee that advocates transparency on UFOs.

The UFOPac was founded by a bipartisan team of political minds. One of those founders is Peter Ragone.

Along with Governor Newsom, Peter Ragone has advised the likes of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Ragone told KCBS Radio that his interest was piqued when the US Navy declassified video of an unexplained air phenomena last year.

"Something appears to be happening here and we should get as much information about it as possible," he said. "Obviously, any information related to UAPs or UFOs could be some of the biggest things that have ever happened in human history."

Ragone said the organization is all about government transparency, and that in the digital age, government secrecy is dead.

The PAC can raise money and support candidates and causes friendly to the issue.

"We'll do research to find out how people feel about these things, to help convince our elected leaders that this is what their constituents want to happen as it relates to transparency," Ragone said.

U.S. intelligence agencies will deliver a report to the Senate on UFOs next month.
