The St. Paul Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly broke into a house on Wednesday night and killed the homeowner's pet on his way out.

Police shared that at approximately 9:45 last night, the man was caught on camera breaking into a home located on the city's East Side.

The man allegedly used a shovel to get into the home and then proceeded to burglarize the house, taking a gun from the family along with several other items.

The department said that while leaving the house, the man used the gun to kill the family's golden retriever.

The man is described as a Black male with tattoos on his right cheek and hands. During the break-in, he was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering, black and white shoes, and a black Chicago Blackhawks hat.
