
Reddit users reported issues accessing the news aggregator website Thursday afternoon.
“Reddit is down?” asked one user on Twitter.
Downdetector, a website that reports web outages in real time, showed 12,231 outage complaints around 6:30 p.m. EST. Several dozen users began complaining about the outage shortly after 4:00 p.m. The reports spiked into the thousands by 5:30 p.m.
By 6:51 p.m., Reddit said it had identified the issue and was working on a fix.
A cloud platform outage left Reddit and several other websites offline for more than an hour two weeks ago. The platform provider blamed a faulty service configuration, according to USA Today.
