Safety regulators are suing Amazon to force recalls of products that could be dangerous, including unsafe hairdryers and flammable children's pajamas.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission complaint filed Wednesday said Amazon stopped selling some of the hazardous products.

Amazon said it was “unclear” why the complaint was filed, claiming to have already removed most of the products and refunded customers. The safety commission said Amazon had not gone far enough to remedy the problem.
“Knowingly selling dangerous and defective products that imperil Americans will not be tolerated,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).
Around 400,000 hair dryers were missing a component that helps protect users from electrocution. Nearly 24,000 carbon monoxide detectors failed to alert the presence of the gas. “Numerous” children’s pajamas violated safety requirements, risking injury to youth.
