Tom Brady announced Sunday night that he is unretiring and returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season, eliciting a wide range of reactions from across the sports world.

There's one individual who might be distraught than anyone else, though, and that would be the person who spent over half a million dollars on Brady's "final" touchdown pass just a day earlier.
According to Lelands Auctions, the ball sold for $518,628 in an auction that ended Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET.
The ball was being sold by a fan who caught it after Mike Evans threw it into the stands after racing into the endzone. At the time, not much was made of it because the Bucs were still trailing the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional round game and would go on to lose. According to USA Today, no one made much of an effort to get the ball back.
Now that Brady is back, though, you would expect him to throw another touchdown pass very early in the 2022 season. Once that happens, the ball sold on Saturday will no longer be his "last" and will certainly not be worth $500K.
