An off-duty confrontation between a Southwest Airlines pilot and a flight attendant is now under investigation by the company and the police.

Reports say the dispute was in San Jose, California, where the flight crew was spending the night between shifts. Crew members were socializing in the hotel bar when a quarrel broke out over wearing or not wearing masks.
Based on USA Today reports, San Jose police were called and the pilot ended up with a citation for assault. That matter has now been handed over to the District Attorney.
A Southwest spokesperson says the pilot was put on leave until the legalities are sorted out.
The pilots union is not saying anything while the flight attendants union says only they're aware of the situation and the fact that there's an investigation underway.
