ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Instances of children involved in violent crimes in St. Louis continued this weekend, as a 12-year-old shot a 16-year-old multiple Sunday night, according to police.

Police say the mother of the teenage victim brought her child to the hospital in critical/unstable condition. She was already driving her son to the hospital when police were alerted of the shooting. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Hurck Street in South St. Louis.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and remanded to juvenile courts. Police say an investigation is ongoing.
It comes after recent incidents of armed carjackings in St. Louis that were carried out by boys as young as 11-years-old.
On Sept. 21, a 48-year-old victim told police he had agreed to drive a woman and her 11-year-old son to the 4200 block of Page Blvd. Then he says the woman grabbed the keys from the ignition and child pistol whipped him. They forces him out of the vehicle and drove away.
Last Thursday, a boy estimated to be between 12- and 14-years-old assisted in a carjacking on Broadway in north St. Louis around 5 a.m. Police say the boy and another young man pulled a gun on the victim and forced him out of the vehicle after the victim had agreed to give them a ride.
