Peppa the French bulldog is home, safe and sound.
The 6-year-old pup was stolen from Alicja Pierzchala while she was walking in Portage Park Wednesday evening.
She told the Sun-Times someone put a gun to the back of her head and yelled, “Give me your dog.”
Pierzchala suffered a concussion and an injury to her rotator cuff during the robbery.
After a few chaotic days of searching and turning to social media, Pierzchala’s daughter thanked the community for their help.
“Peppa is safe! We are grateful for everyone’s prayers and well wishes. Thank you!”
The family didn’t offer any further details on the dog’s return, and no arrests have been made.
Peppa was rescued by Pierzchala about two months ago after learning her previous owners planned to put her down.
