Three officers shot, one fatally, during disturbance call in Minnesota

Two sheriff's deputies and one local police officer were shot Saturday night, one of them fatally, in west-central Minnesota while responding to a domestic disturbance call in the town of Cyrus.

The Pope County Sheriff's office is reporting that one of their deputies died from the shooting.

The deputy's name is Josh Owen, who was with the Pope County sheriff's office for 12 years.

Authorities also say a man involved in the shooting also died, and they add that the public is not in any danger.

There was also a Facebook post from the deputy's father.

Names of everyone else involved in the shooting are not released.

Few details are released about the incident, which happened around 7:30 p.m. at an apartment building in Cyrus.

Two of the officers who were shot are Pope County sheriff's deputies, the other was an officer from the nearby town of Starbuck.

Investigators from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are trying to find out what happened.
