Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Monday to rant about special counsel Jack Smith and other Justice Department officials.

Trump said in a post to the website that if he were re-elected as president next year, Smith, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, and former Justice Department official Andrew Weissmann would all end up in a mental institution.

The former president went on to call them a “team of losers and misfits,” adding that joining them would be “all the rest of the Radical Left Zealots and Thugs who have been working illegally for years to ‘take me down.’”

He went on to say they will end up “suffering from a horrible disease, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME (TDS!), in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as president is successfully completed. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Smith was assigned to oversee Trump’s federal investigations into his mishandling of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Both investigations have resulted in charges being brought against Trump.

The comments also come as Trump is facing a case in New York alleging that he committed fraud through his business empire.

The case saw the former president and his three adult children testify before a judge in New York, as well as be placed under a gag order after he made several comments about the case on social media.

Trump’s election interference case is expected to begin in March 2024 in Washington, D.C., and his classified document case is expected to begin in May 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
