In the midst of a tariff roller coaster, another mass shooting, seemingly stalled peace talks in both Ukraine and Gaza, President Donald Trump briefly shared an AI-generated video promoting fictional “MedBeds,” magical beds that can heal any sickness.
And then he deleted it.
The video, posted to Truth Social, appeared to be a Fox news segment in which Trump claims that every American will receive a "medbed card" for access to hospitals with advanced technology and top doctors. The Daily Beast described his quick post and then deletion 12 hours later this way: "Trump deletes weird AI video shilling magic beds."
The fake video, which Trump shared in the middle of the night in one of his social media sprees, appears to be a Fox News segment that the network confirmed that it never aired or filmed or had anything to do with. It's a fake.
In the video, AI Trump says, “Every American will soon receive their own MedBed card,” AI Trump says. “With it, you’ll have guaranteed access to our new hospitals led by the top doctors in the nation, equipped with the most advanced technology in the world.” The White House has not commented on why he shared it and if the president believes such a bed exists.
If this is your first foray into the 'MedBed' conspiracy theory, know that it suggests the U.S. military possesses technology that can cure any disease and regrow missing limbs within minutes, but they've decided not to share it with the population. Tesla BioHealing has capitalized on the conspiracy by selling $11,000 "quantum healing environment canister" that you can place underneath a regular bed. Know that despite the Tesla name, the BioHealing company has no association with Elon Musk.
Trump has never weighed in on MedBeds other than posting this video, but the AP noted in January that, "According to believers of the QAnon conspiracy theory, medbeds were developed by the military (in some versions, using alien technology) and are already in use by the world’s richest and most powerful families. Many accounts claim former President Donald Trump, if he wins another term in the White House, will unveil the devices and make them free for all Americans."
