After a long absence from the world of social media, former President Donald Trump has made his return with his new social media venture, Truth Social, which is now available on Apple’s App Store.

The app became available for download shortly before midnight eastern time, with Apple users who preordered it having it automatically downloaded to their devices. On Monday morning, it became the top free app in the store.

However, having Truth Social downloaded did not mean everyone was able to start sharing, as some users reported being added to a waitlist, receiving the message, “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist,” The Guardian reported.

The launch of the app comes from former Republican U.S. congressman Devin Nunes and Trump Media & Technology Group. Truth Social joins the growing list of platforms aimed at protecting free speech.

Several congress members and prominent figures in the Republican party, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Wendy Rodgers, and more, have shared on other social media sites that they are now on Truth Social, encouraging others to follow them there.

The app was previously only available to those invited to use it during its test phase, but now Nunes is excited to get more people on Truth Social.

“This week, we will begin to roll out on the Apple App Store. That’s going to be awesome because we’re going to get so many more people that are going to be on the platform,” Nunes shared on Sunday with Fox News.

Nunes continued saying that their goal is to be fully operational in at least the U.S. by the end of March.
