SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Federal officials shared on Saturday afternoon that two planes collided over Colorado early on Saturday, resulting in at least three people being killed.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board shared that two single-engine planes, a Cessna 172 and Sonex Xenos hit each other and crashed near Vance Brand Airport in Longmont at approximately 8:50 a.m.
The Cessna was holding two passengers, but it is still unknown how many were on the other plane, according to the FAA.

Responding to the crash at around 10 a.m. was the Mountain View Fire and Rescue Department, which shared on Twitter that three people were killed in the incident.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office reported that when officials arrived on the scene, they discovered two separate crash sites, CNN reported.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office shared with CBS that an investigation was ongoing. Assisting in the investigation are the NTSB and the FAA.
Authorities have not yet identified the people in the crash.
