Is there a Jeffrey Epstein client list? And why is the White House backing away from it?

The White House is facing scrutiny over an assertion that there was no client list for registered sex offender and friend to the powerful Jeffrey Epstein despite previous statements by Attorney General Pam Bondi indicating otherwise.

Questions are arising because Bondi at one point mentioned having the client list “ready to review,” but now the Department of Justice stepped in suddenly to say no further investigations will be conducted.

In a memo, the Justice Department wrote they have 300 gigabytes of data from the Epstein investigation, but "found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials." Conspiracy theorists have been salivating for a list of the powerful and connected who may have used Epstein's services, which appeared to be centered on procuring underage girls for wealthy men.

The claim there's nothing to release flies in the face of Bondi's own words. During a February 21 interview on Fox News, host John Roberts asked whether DOJ would release a list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients.

Bondi responded: “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review. That’s been a directive by President Trump. I’m reviewing that.” As recently as May 7, she said, “There are tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn, and there are hundreds of victims."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to questions about the discrepancy by stating that Bondi was referring to "all of the paper in relation to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes" when mentioning the client list. Leavitt deferred further clarification to Bondi.

Elon Musk, a former ally of President Donald Trump, posted on X that Trump is on the list. Just yesterday, Musk took on the issue on his own social platform again, writing, "What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again" over a picture that counts 0 sex offenders arrested in the Epstein case. Forty million people viewed the post.

Jeffrey Epstein took his own life in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019. Conspiracy theories call his death off camera and without a guard nearby suspicious, but the FBI and Justice Department say show nobody from outside entered the common area at the detention facility where Epstein was held in Manhattan.

Vice President JD Vance waded into the fray, saying on a podcast, "First of all, absolutely not. Donald Trump didn't do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein. Whatever the Democrats and the media says about him, that's totally BS.”
