Will aliens land in Las Vegas this Sunday, invade the Super Bowl and force a tie?

Ok, we know many people may think this is a silly question, but it is one of the things people are betting on for this year’s Super Bowl. Other bets concern pop star Taylor Swift, who has been drawing attention as she cheers on her boyfriend – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – from the stands.

“Something Offbeat” producers Chris Blake and Lauren Barry tackle these prop bets and the world’s first Swiftie-centric Super Bowl on this special “Offbites” edition of the podcast. They also cover some surprises when it comes to Super Bowl advertising and more.

As for that question about aliens… check out this vintage episode of the show to learn why it’s not as wild as you might think.

Listen in before you watch the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers, and write in to let us know what bets you would put money on for Super Bowl LVIII.

Each week, “Something Offbeat” takes a deeper look at an unusual headline. If you have suggestions for stories the podcast should cover, send them to us at somethingoffbeat@audacy.com.
