During the 74th anniversary of Redding Rodeo, a popular bull riding event at 715 Auditorium Dr., a bull bucked its rider, leapt over a fence and hit six people in a frenzy to break free, a video posted to social media shows.
In a news release, Redding Rodeo officials revealed that the bull "ran out of the rodeo grounds and towards the contestant parking area" and was corralled by livestock handlers a little under half a mile away near the Sundial Bridge. The bull was immediately placed in a trailer once captured, SFGATE reported.
During the wild escape, five people suffered minor injuries and one person needed to be hospitalized, the Redding Police Department told KHSL-TV.
The bull's horn clipped one teenage victim’s leg while a woman walking near the Sundial Bridge was taken to the hospital with minor wounds, the news station reported.
