A Tax Board spokesperson told KCBS Radio most of the final direct deposit payments were sent to bank accounts on October 29, though it could take "a few business days" for them to be officially received.

Residents expecting paper checks will have to wait a little longer. The most recent batch began to be mailed out on November 1, and the agency warned that some checks could take three weeks to arrive at Californians’ doorsteps.

Checks are dispersed based on the last three digits of residents’ zip codes.

Overall, 5.7 million payments have been distributed so far, 3.7 million from direct deposit and two million from mailed checks, totaling just over $4 billion. A total of nine million Californians are expected to receive the payments. The agency said it expects most of the checks to be issued by the end of the year, though some will continue into early 2022.

The state began dispersing payments for its second round of its stimulus program in late August.

Californians who make under $75,000 are eligible to receive the $600 stimulus, with an additional $500 going to eligible dependents claimed on their 2020 tax return.
