Australian tabloids are reporting that Caitlyn Jenner, who is running to replace California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a recall election, has left the state in order to film "Celebrity Big Brother" in Australia.

News.com.au, Daily Mail Australia and others reported that Jenner landed in Sydney earlier this week and will have to enter a mandatory two-week quarantine before being able to film.

The Jenner campaign did not respond to KCBS’ request for comment.

But according to Jenner’s Twitter page, the move will not be affecting her campaign.

"I have not paused my campaign at all. I am preparing to launch a multi-week bus tour across CA," the reality star and former Olympian tweeted Friday.

"I am honoring a work commitment that I had made prior to even deciding to run for governor. There is no pause at all on this race to save CA!" Jenner also wrote.

None of the tweets specifically addressed Jenner’s presence in Australia so close to the recall election, which is just eight weeks away.

News.com.au reported that many Australians still stuck overseas and subject to COVID-19-related travel limitations are not happy that Jenner, who will reportedly make $500,000 from her "Big Brother" work, was allowed to travel.

A group representing Australians stranded abroad has said the fact a celebrity can fly in while others struggle to is a "slap in the face," News.com.au reported.

The Newsom recall is scheduled for Sept. 14.
