Newsom is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and has received two booster shots. He is experiencing mild symptoms and said he is grateful to be vaccinated and for treatments like Paxlovid, Newsom said in a tweet.

The Governor will continue to work remotely and will remain in isolation at least through June 2 and until he tests negative, the governor's office said.

Newsom was prescribed Paxlovid, the antiviral medication and will start his 5-day regimen as soon as possible to treat the virus, the governor's office reported.
