LAPD detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an alleged violent battery incident that was captured on video.
According to an LAPD press release, the suspect and victim became engaged in a verbal altercation on January 16 at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Washington and Speedway Blvd. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the jaw, causing the victim to lose consciousness.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for serious injuries.
The suspect is described as a male white or Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, with black hair and a black beard. The suspect is five feet, seven inches tall and weighs an estimated 180 pounds. The suspect was wearing a white Los Angeles Dodgers jersey affixed with the number 74 and the name "Jansen" on the back.
Police said the suspect was also wearing dark pants, white shoes and was carrying a skateboard.
