A magnitude 3.4 earthquake shook the Lake Tahoe area on Monday.
The USGS reported the earthquake hit around 12:25 p.m., centered about four miles southeast of Dollar Point. The trembler was initially reported as a magnitude 3.6 but was later downgraded.
It was followed by a 2.9 that hit about 25 minutes later.

Both were measured at a depth of about 4.5 miles, almost smack dab in the middle of Lake Tahoe. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
It's the latest in a series of earthquakes to shake the Lake Tahoe area over the last several days. Earlier this month, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck near Truckee, one of a few earthquakes within a 30-minute period.
