A man has been detained following the kidnapping of a child in Sacramento.
A three-year-old boy, Leo Norvell, was abducted at around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, triggering an Amber Alert in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. He was located by police 70 miles away from Sacramento in Hayward Saturday morning, sending a sigh of relief through the communities.

Surveillance footage obtained by KCRA-TV showed that the boy was snatched from his mother as she ran to a neighbor's front porch. Witnesses told the station that they heard an argument and saw a man put Norvell in his mother's car before shots rang out.
Joshua Yago, 30, was taken into custody as the primary suspect. He will be booked on charges related to the kidnapping and an earlier shooting, police said. At the time of the kidnapping, California Highway Patrol reported that Yago was to be considered armed and dangerous.

Norvell is in good health, officials said. Efforts are currently being made to reunite the young boy with his family.
It was not immediately clear what the motive of the kidnapping was. This is an active investigation.
